About 300 Afghan evacuees arrive at Loudoun processing site that`s faced local opposition

Residents near the National Conference Center in the Lansdowne area of Leesburg in Loudoun County opposed a federal plan to use the site to process as many as 1,000 Afghan evacuees per month. The first group of about 300 Afghans arrived to the site on Tuesday, Department of Homeland Security officials said.
